An official visit of the Austrian Development Agency delegation to Syunik

On April 10-11, a delegation from the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) undertook an official visit to the beneficiaries and partners involved in “Modernizing Vocational Education and Training in Agriculture in Armenia” (MAVETA) and “Livestock Development in Armenia: South-North 2″ projects, which are implemented by the Strategic Development Agency (SDA) NGO.

The delegation was represented by Klaus Kapper, the Head of Yerevan office of the Austrian Development Agency, Nora Alanakyan, the deputy head of ADA and Tobias Orischnig, Programme Manager, responsible for Moldova, Georgia and Armenia.

During their visit, the delegation engaged in meetings with the head of the Sarnakunq rural settlement of Sisian enlarged community, interacted with beneficiary farmers, and visited the recently opened “Lead farm” in Kapan.

As part of the MAVETA project, which receives partial funding from the Austrian Development Agency, visits were arranged to the Sisian branch of the Armenian National Agrarian University and the “Sis-Alp” Dairy Company.

The official visit also included a discussion session, during which Vahe Hovhannisyan, manager of the “Livestock Development in Armenia: South-North 2” project, and Lilit Hovhannisyan, manager of the “Modernizing Vocational Education and Training in Agriculture in Armenia” (MAVETA) project presented the project achievements, ongoing interventions and forthcoming activities.
