The job fair was organized in the city of Goris, Syunik Region

On August 18, the “Strategic Development Agency” NGO, in cooperation with the Goris Municipality of Syunik region and the Goris territorial center of the unified social service, organized a “Job Fair” in the Goris city of Syunik region.

The “Job Fair” was organized within the framework of the “Modernizing Vocational Education and Training in Agriculture in Armenia” (MAVETA) project with the aim to bring the agricultural field employers and job seekers to a single platform.

More than 15 private companies participating in the fair exhibited their products and presented to job seekers the available vacancies, the development perspective of their companies and the skills required by them. The job seekers filled out resume forms for further cooperation.

During the “Job Fair”, a training on “Career Planning and Development of Necessary Skills” and a demonstration of practical activities typical to agricultural professions were also organized. The aim of the training was to introduce the participants to the current challenges people faced while applying for a job. They received information how to be competitive in the labor market and plan the path to their career.

The MAVETA project is funded by a broad coalition of international and local organizations led by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), including the Austrian Development Agency, the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Government of Armenia, the Swiss Church Aid (HEKS/EPER) NGO, Izmirlian Foundation, the Strategic Development Agency (SDA) NGO and Vanand Agro CJSC.

The project’s implementing partners are the GIZ and HEKS/EPER with the involvement of SDA and the School of Agricultural, Forest and Food Sciences at the Bern University of Applied Sciences (HAFL).
