Technical support to MAVETA project partner: Ejmiatsin State Vocational School

On November 15, within the framework of the “Modernizing Vocational Education and Training in Agriculture in Armenia” (MAVETA) project, as a technical support to partner institutions, a 17-seat minibus was provided to Ejmiadzin State Vocational School.

Representatives of the partner organizations as well as the private companies active in the fruit and nut value chains were present at the minibus handover ceremony.

Thanks to this transportation, the Ejmiadzin State Vocational School will be able to organize the transfer of students from remote areas to the educational institution and the transfer of apprentices studying the specialty of “Fruit and Nut orchard worker” to the partner organizations for their practical work.

The vehicle will also serve to transport students from schools to the Ejmiadzin State Vocational School, with the aim of introducing them to the teaching programs.

Within the framework of the “Modernizing Vocational Education and Training in Agriculture in Armenia” (MAVETA) project, the introduction of the profession of “Fruit and Nut orchard worker” will be a stimulus for the development and increase of employment in the Armavir marz, as well as will support the increase in the number of students in the above-mentioned vocational educational institution.

The MAVETA project is funded by a broad coalition of international and local organizations led by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), including the Austrian Development Agency, the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Government of Armenia, the Swiss Church Aid (HEKS/EPER) NGO, Izmirlian Foundation, the Strategic Development Agency (SDA) NGO and Vanand Agro CJSC.

The project’s implementing partners are the GIZ and HEKS/EPER with the involvement of SDA and the School of Agricultural, Forest and Food Sciences at the Bern University of Applied Sciences (HAFL).
