RECONOMY: Presenting Regional Tourism Potential to Latin American Tour Operators

As part of RECONOMY’s “Digitizing Sectors for Competitiveness” project, a dynamic networking event was organized by ANTRIM, bringing together international buyers from Latin America to explore Moldova’s diverse tourism offer. 

The event showcased the country’s core tourism assets – from rich cultural heritage and vibrant gastronomy to renowned wine tourism, scenic nature, and authentic local experiences that define Moldova as an emerging destination.

Participants engaged in an interactive Q&A session, fostering meaningful dialogue and exchange around market opportunities and partnership potential.

In addition, Elena Stepanov introduced a regional tourism development initiative aimed at strengthening collaboration between Moldovan and Armenian tour companies. Her presentation also highlighted Moldova as a competitive and promising touristic destination, outlining its key attractions and untapped potential in the global tourism market.

Furthermore, Mher Sahakyan, Project Manager of RECONOMY’s “Digitizing Sectors for Competitiveness” project, presented the project’s role in advancing regional tourism, emphasizing its efforts to foster cross-border cooperation, support sector digitalization, and enhance the overall competitiveness of tourism in the region.

The event served as an important platform to build connections, promote regional cooperation, and enhance the visibility of Moldova and the wider region among international tourism stakeholders.

Advancing Digital Transformation and Tourism Competitiveness: RECONOMY Team Meets Moldova’s Minister of Culture

RECONOMY’s “Digitizing Sectors for Competitiveness” project team met with Cristian Jardan, Minister of Culture of Moldova, to discuss ongoing project activities and strategic areas of collaboration.

The meeting focused on advancing sector competitiveness through digitalization, with a particular emphasis on unlocking regional tourism opportunities. Discussions also highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts to strengthen the tourism ecosystem and promote sustainable growth.

The team further reflected on its cooperation with ANTRIM, identifying avenues to deepen collaboration and enhance the sector’s resilience and visibility.

MAVETA The development of dual VET curricula has been officially launched

On April 21-22, a key milestone in the implementation of the dual Vocational Education and Training (VET) system was marked in Yerevan. A two-day professional workshop was held at the Ibis Yerevan Center Hotel, dedicated to the development and revision of curricula.

The workshop marked the inception phase of the curriculum development working groups. Its primary objective was to establish a coherent and unified approach, while strengthening participants’ capacities to design curricula in line with dual education principles – particularly in the fields of greenhouse management, cold chain management, and the installation and operation of drip irrigation systems.

During the workshop, participants:
🔹 were introduced to the legal and regulatory framework governing the implementation of dual VET,
🔹 explored the fundamental principles of the dual education system, including international best practices,
🔹 reviewed methodologies for the development and revision of curricula based on the dual approach,
🔹 actively engaged in practical sessions aimed at ensuring the effective organization of subsequent curriculum development processes.

The workshop was facilitated by Yulia Stakyan, expert of the GIZ programme “Private Sector Development and Vocational Education and Training in Armenia,” who combined theoretical insights with practical tools, ensuring a highly interactive and application-oriented learning process.

The workshop provided a solid foundation for strengthening collaboration among sector stakeholders and for ensuring the effective coordination of the joint curriculum development process.

The MAVETA project is financed  by a broad coalition of international and local organisations led by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), including the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Austrian Development Agency and the Government of Armenia.  

The project’s implementing partners are the GIZ and SDA and the School of Agricultural, Forest and Food Sciences at the Bern University of Applied Sciences (HAFL).

RECONOMY Turning Digital Knowledge into Real Impact

As part of RECONOMY’s Digitizing Sectors for Competitiveness Project, a certificates awarding ceremony was organized to celebrate participants who successfully completed the “Meta Adds & Meta Business Suite Tools” and “Amadeus Air Ticketing System” training programs.

Delivered by the Armenian Tourism Federation and supported both methodologically and technically by the project, these trainings were designed to strengthen digital capabilities within the tourism sector.

The Meta Ads & Meta Business Suite course equipped participants with practical skills to effectively manage digital presence, create engaging content, and connect with audiences across Meta platforms – boosting visibility, marketing performance, and customer communication for tourism and service-based businesses.

The event also featured an inspiring lecture by renowned Armenian chef Sedrak Mamulyan, who shared insights into traditional and festive Armenian cuisine, highlighting its cultural value and its role in preserving national heritage.

The ceremony concluded with the awarding of certificates, recognizing participants’ achievements and their newly gained competencies.

 This ceremony underscored RECONOMY’s commitment to empowering professionals with practical digital competencies and fostering cross-sectoral learning to enhance competitiveness.

MAVETA Monitoring Visit to Partner Farms in Lori Region

On April 3, a regular monitoring visit was conducted to partner farms of the MAVETA Project in the Lori region, with the objective of assessing the effectiveness of workplace-based training and the extent of apprentices’ practical engagement within the dual education framework.

The visit provided an opportunity to observe firsthand how theoretical knowledge is translated into practical competencies in a real working environment. Apprentices were actively engaged in soil preparation and sowing activities, applying their knowledge of seed selection, soil cultivation, and fertilizer application.

An important achievement is that, beyond the tasks предусмотрված within the modular training curriculum, apprentices are also involved in the day-to-day operations of the farms. They assume additional responsibilities and contribute to a range of agricultural processes. This approach significantly enhances their hands-on experience, fosters a strong sense of responsibility, and strengthens their alignment with labor market requirements.

Monitoring visits of this kind, implemented within the MAVETA Project, play a vital role in ensuring continuous oversight and quality assurance, helping to ensure that the implementation of dual education remains fully aligned with established standards and proceeds in accordance with the intended objectives.
