Within the framework of the “Living Landscapes for Market Development in Armenia” (LILA) project, a theoretical and practical training titled “Sedrak Mamoulyan’s Culinary Knowledge” was held in the Areni community of Vayots Dzor region from April 15-18, intended for forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh.
During the four-day training, Sedrak Mamulyan, President of the “Development and Preservation of Armenian Culinary Traditions” NGO, presented the origins and cultural characteristics of the national cuisine, culinary basics, as well as the identification and use of spices used in the preparation of national dishes to the participants, emphasizing the importance of the food safety practices.
Following the theoretical sessions, participants engaged in hands-on cooking exercises, under the guidance of Sedrak Mamulyan and his assistant Anyuta Matevosyan, they prepared a variety of traditional dishes.
At the conclusion of the training, all participants received certificates of completion.
LILA project is funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), and implemented by the WWF Armenian Office (WWF-Armenia) in partnership with the Strategic Development Agency (SDA) NGO.
