Professions Promotion Day in Tavush

On May 18 within the framework of the “Modernizing Vocational Education and Training in Agriculture in Armenia” (MAVETA) project, Strategic Development Agency NGO in cooperation with Berd State Multifunctional College, organized the “Professions Promotion Day in Tavush” event.

The event was attended by representatives of the municipality and the private sector, almost 100 graduates of the 2022-2023 academic year from almost all primary schools of the Berd community.

The director of the college Ms. Anna Avalyan, presented the educational programs of the 2023-2024 year, the opportunities of the college and the admission procedures.

Project coordinator Ms. Lilit Beglaryan presented the MAVETA program, the agricultural specialties elaborated within the framework of the project, DUAL educational approach, the importance of agricultural professions, and the huge demand in the communities.

A young practicing veterinarian was also invited to the event, who emphasized the importance of the profession of Veterinarian and recommended the students choose this profession.

The students made a short tour of the classrooms and professional laboratories of the college. The Promotion Day ended with a demonstration defile of the works made by the students of the “Sewing Production Technology” group of the college.

The programs of “Strategic Development Agency” NGO were presented at the event dedicated to Europe Day

On May 18, “Strategic Development Agency” NGO participated in the fair organized in the city of Kapan, Syunik Marz, RA within the framework of the “Team Europe” initiative dedicated to Europe Day 2023.

More than 20 projects funded by the “Team Europe” initiative took part in the fair, the projects that have registered a positive impact on the living conditions of the people of Syunikwere presented. At the fair, “Strategic Development Agency” NGO presented 4 projects implemented in Syunik Marz, RA.

The Fair also hosted local performances and a rock concert, as well as contests to celebrate and inform the public about European Union.

The Resilient Syunik Team Europe initiative is the joint undertaking of the European Union, the European Investment Bank and EU Member States Austria, Czechia, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland and Sweden, with Switzerland also joining as an external partner. The main objective of this initiative is to contribute to the sustainable socioeconomic and institutional development of the Syunik region in line with local development priorities.

Professions Promotion Day in Lori

On May 17, the event entitled “Professions Promotion Day in Lori” was organized within the framework of the “Modernizing Vocational Education and Training in Agriculture in Armenia” (MAVETA) project in cooperation with Stepanavan state agricultural college after professor A.Kalantar.

The main goal of the event was to acquaint the young people with the educational programs of the above-mentioned educational institutions and to introduce the professions that will be taught with dual education approach.

The event was attended by more than 60 students, who were introduced to specifics of the presented professions.

The MAVETA project is funded by a broad coalition of international and local organizations led by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), including the Austrian Development Agency, the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Government of Armenia, the Swiss Church Aid (HEKS/EPER) NGO, Izmirlian Foundation, the Strategic Development Agency (SDA) NGO and Vanand Agro CJSC.

The project’s implementing partners are the GIZ and HEKS/EPER with the involvement of SDA and the School of Agricultural, Forest and Food Sciences at the Bern University of Applied Sciences (HAFL).

Visits to the Goris primary schools No. 2 and No. 3 in the framework of MAVETA project

Within the framework of “Modernizing Vocational Education and Training in Agriculture in Armenia” (MAVETA) project on 12 of May, the representatives of “Strategic Development Agency” NGO, together with the teachers of the agricultural sector and the career consultant of Goris State Agricultural College visited Goris primary schools No. 2 and No. 3 to meet with the students of the final grades and present the objective of “Modernization of vocational education and training in the field of agriculture in Armenia” (MAVETA) project.

During the meeting, students were introduced to MAVETA project, the agricultural specialties to be taught within the framework of the project with a dual educational approach, their importance and the great demand in the communities. Within the framework of MAVETA project, the similar visits to other regions of Armenia, where partner institutions located are also planned to be conducted.

Professions Promotion Day in Syunik

On May 11, the event entitled “Professions Promotion Day in Syunik” was organized within the framework of the “Modernizing Vocational Education and Training in Agriculture in Armenia” (MAVETA) project in cooperation with the Sisian Branch of the ANAU and the Goris State Agricultural College.

The main goal of the event was to acquaint potential applicants with the educational programs of the above-mentioned educational institutions and to introduce the professions that will be taught with dual education aproach.

The event was attended by more than 100 students, who were divided into three groups to watch topic oriented movies and to learn about the target professions.

Students had the opportunity to see and participate in the practical work typical to the presented professions, such as the animal care at the farm, mastitis detection via testing, preparation of cheese and curd making, the analysis of milk fat content, acidity, density, and the process of extraction.
