Workshop on the need to create the post of community pasture watchmen

On June 1-2, “Strategic Development Agency” NGO organized a workshop within the framework of the “Livestock Development in Armenia: South-North 2” project to discuss the need for community pasture watchmen.

The workshop was attended by the Deputy Minister of Economy Ashkhen Shirvanyan, representatives of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, regional and community authorities, sector experts, etc. RA Deputy Minister of Economy Ashkhen Shirvanyan made a welcoming speech with a reference to the importance of sustainable management of natural fodder areas in the context of livestock development and the need for a community pasture watchman position.

Ms. Shirvanyan was followed by Yeghiazar Davtan, the representative of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, who mentioned in his speech that ensuring the stability and well-being of communities is one of the priorities of their ministry, and in that context, this discussion is very important.

The workshop started with the speech of Mkrtich Ayvazyan, the chairman of the “Strategic Development Agency” NGO, who welcomed the participants and wished them a fruitful discussion. At the workshop, the natural resource management expert Mr. Gagik Tovmasyan presented the importance of sustainable management of natural fodder areas in the context of the livestock sector development and environment protection.

The current state of pastures and existing problems were presented. Both days of the workshop were held in an atmosphere of active discussion.

The “Sheep Shearing” festival was presented on “Discover Armenia” Expo

The “Sheep Shearing” festival, jointly organized by Strategic Development Agency NGO and “The Ranch” LLC, was part of the events organized by the RA Tourism Committee on May 27 and 28, the most cultural “Discover Armenia” Expo and the “Discover Armenia, Discover its Regions” conference.

The purpose of the exhibition is to present the tourism potential of the regions of Armenia, the rich cultural heritage, the cuisine, the wonderful nature and the possibilities of adventure tourism.

Press conference to present the Sheep Shearing festival

On May 25, at 11:00, a press conference was held in the state news agency “Armenpress” regarding the May-June festivals supported by the Tourism Committee of the RA Ministry of Economy.

4 events were presented and discussed at the press conference, which are “Get to Know Armenia”  regional tourism exhibition, “Sheep shearing festival 2023”, “Armenian-Georgian cultural and culinary” festival 2023 and “Sarerum” festival.

During the press conference, the coordinator of the “Sheep Shearing” festival, Alla Ghazaryan, presented the “Sheep Shearing” festival jointly organized by “The Ranch” LLC and “Strategic Development Agency” NGO on 10th  of June in the Khot settlement of Tatev community, Syunik region. Purpose and program of the festival were presented and discussed.

Two-month training on “Digital Marketing for Hospitality and Tourism” was launched

On May 24, the two-month training on “Digital Marketing for Hospitality and Tourism” was officially launched. The training was specifically designed for the beneficiaries and partners of the “Living Landscapes for Market Development in Armenia” project․ The training will be delivered by “MAROG” branding and marketing communications company․

Due to the training, the representatives of the tourism and hospitality industries will gain practical skills of digital marketing, branding and digital tools to promote their products and services on various digital platforms more professionally․

The training was organized within the “Living Landscapes for Market Development in Armenia” Project, which is implemented by World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Caucasus and Armenian offices (lead implementer) and “Strategic Development Agency” (SDA) NGO. The Project is funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).

Professions Promotion Day in Tavush

On May 18 within the framework of the “Modernizing Vocational Education and Training in Agriculture in Armenia” (MAVETA) project, Strategic Development Agency NGO in cooperation with Berd State Multifunctional College, organized the “Professions Promotion Day in Tavush” event.

The event was attended by representatives of the municipality and the private sector, almost 100 graduates of the 2022-2023 academic year from almost all primary schools of the Berd community.

The director of the college Ms. Anna Avalyan, presented the educational programs of the 2023-2024 year, the opportunities of the college and the admission procedures.

Project coordinator Ms. Lilit Beglaryan presented the MAVETA program, the agricultural specialties elaborated within the framework of the project, DUAL educational approach, the importance of agricultural professions, and the huge demand in the communities.

A young practicing veterinarian was also invited to the event, who emphasized the importance of the profession of Veterinarian and recommended the students choose this profession.

The students made a short tour of the classrooms and professional laboratories of the college. The Promotion Day ended with a demonstration defile of the works made by the students of the “Sewing Production Technology” group of the college.
