Hard and semi-hard cheese preparation training for representatives of MAVETA project partners

Within the framework of the “Modernizing Vocational Education and Training in Agriculture in Armenia” (MAVETA) project, on June 25-27, a practical training on the preparation of hard and semi-hard cheeses was held at the Vanadzor branch of the ANAU for representatives of partner colleges and private companies.

The participants of the training performed various laboratory tests for raw milk.

Gayane Hakobyan, cheese technologist and lecturer at the Vanadzor branch of ANAU, presented the history of creation of hard cheeses, methods of production and experience-based innovative solutions.

The participants made Gouda cheese in laboratory conditions through a chain process: from milk intake to cheese salting and ripening.

 

The training was carried out jointly with the Union of Cheesemakers of Armenia.

Meetings within “Digitizing Sectors for Competitiveness” project in Moldova

Within the framework of the “Digitizing Sectors for Competitiveness” (RECONOMY) project, the delegation of the “Strategic Development Agency” NGO, led by project manager Mher Sahakyan visited to Moldova on June 18-24.

On June 19, the delegation visited the Professional School N2 (VET school) in Chisinau.

Within the memorandum of cooperation, signed by the Strategic Development Agency and the National Association of Domestic and Inbound Tourism of Moldova, “ANTRIM”, the delegation discussed a wide range of issues related to the vocational education, the programs implemented by the school aimed at capacity building with the staff of the VET School.

On June 20, the delegation visited the State University of Moldova.

Within the memorandum of cooperation, signed by the Strategic Development Agency and the National Association of Domestic and Inbound Tourism of Moldova, “ANTRIM”, the delegation discussed a wide range of issues related to the higher education, the programs implemented by the university aimed at capacity building with the staff of the Economics Department of the University.

On June 20, the delegation visited the Moldovan Association of ICT Companies (ATIC).

Ongoing projects, as well as the initiatives that have an impact on policy advocacy in the sector, the possibilities of cooperation within the framework of RECONOMY’s “Digitizing Sectors for Competitiveness” project were discussed during the meeting with Ana Chirita, the Director of Strategic Programs of the Association.

Representatives of the MAVETA project partner colleges visited the “Marianna” dairy factory

Within the framework of the “Modernizing Vocational Education and Training in Agriculture in Armenia” (MAVETA) project implemented by the “Strategic Development Agency” NGO, a group of teachers and students from partner colleges visited the “Marianna” dairy products factory on June 24.

The students and teachers of the “Milk and dairy technology” department, accompanied by the quality manager, made a tour to the factory and got acquainted with the milk processing technologies and the laboratory examination procedure, the methods of cheese, ice cream and other dairy production.

“Milk and dairy technology” profession is taught in colleges with dual education system, as part of the MAVETA project.

Memorandum of Cooperation within the “Digitizing Sectors for Competitiveness” project

Within the framework of the “Digitizing Sectors for Competitiveness” project, the “Strategic Development Agency” NGO’s delegation led by Mher Sahakyan, Project Manager met with Elena Stepanov, the executive director of ANTRIM, National Inbound and Domestic Tourism Association of Moldova in Chisinau on June 23.

The sides discussed the possibilities of using digital tools and innovative technologies in the field of tourism, training of specialists and increasing competitiveness through non-formal education, and collaboration within the RECONOMY project.

A memorandum of cooperation between the “Strategic Development Agency” NGO and ANTRIM, National Inbound and Domestic Tourism Association of Moldova was signed.

Two-day training on VET sector coverage

On June 22-23, within the framework of the “Modernizing Vocational Education and Training in Agriculture in Armenia” (MAVETA) project implemented by the “Strategic Development Agency” NGO, a training was held in Tsaghkadzor with the participation of journalists covering the VET sector and representatives of partner colleges of the project.

Anna Poghosyan, the organization’s communication and gender specialist, presented to the participants of the two-day training the features of VET coverage, particularly from the perspective of promoting the involvement of women and vulnerable groups.

Lilit Beglaryan, VET consultant at the Strategic Development Agency NGO gave general information to the attendees about the goals and current activities of the MAVETA project.

On the second day of the training, expert Artur Baghdasaryan presented the strategy of dual education, the VET system, mass media monitoring results, and the peculiarities of VET institution pages in social networks.

In their speeches, the representatives of VET institutions referred to the professions taught with a dual educational approach, the experience of cooperation with private sector partners.

During an interactive discussion, journalists and college representatives raised their concerns and issues related to the work of respective fields, as well as opportunities for cooperation.
