RECONOMY x LILA Working Meeting Between Tour-Guides and Tour Operators

Within the framework of RECONOMY’s “Digitizing Sectors for Competitiveness” and “Living Landscapes for Market Development in Armenia” (LILA) projects, a working meeting of tour-guides and tour-operators was held in Yerevan on April 23 on the topic of developing experience-based tourism.

The event participants were welcomed and presented on the projects interventions by Mher Sahakyan, RECONOMY’s “Digitizing Sectors for Competitiveness” project manager, and Alla Ghazaryan, the “Living Landscapes for Market Development in Armenia” (LILA) project coordinator.

Gevorg Babayan, founder of the Like Local digital platform, provided general information about platform’s activities, international experience exchange, and also presented the importance of developing and providing experience-based tourism services.

Exceptional attention was paid to including families living a unique lifestyle in Armenian communities, who will be able to host tourists, presenting the tourism features typical of their regions.

RECONOMY is an inclusive and green economic development program of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), implemented by Helvetas in partnership with the Strategic Development Agency NGO and others in the Eastern Partnership and Western Balkan countries.

Living Landscapes for Market Development in Armenia (LILA) project is funded by  the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and implemented by WWF-Armenia in collaboration with SDA NGO.
