Practical training on fodder production and pasture management for the partners in Lori
From 18-19 April 2023, within the framework of “Modernizing Vocational Education and Training in Agriculture in Armenia” (MAVETA) project, practical training on fodder production and pasture management for the partners in Lori was organized by the Strategic Development Agency NGO for the teachers of Stepanavan State Agricultural College. The workshop was conducted by foreign expert Stefan Dubach.
As a result of the training, the participants were able to:
- recognize the key factors for cheese production from unpasteurized milk and its implication for
- pasture and meadows
- identify the needs and challenges of Armenian pastures and meadow
- plan a graded management of pastures and meadows
- recognize the connection between the intensity of use and fertilization of a meadow
- identify the relationship between feeding and breeding
The MAVETA project is funded by a broad coalition of international and local organizations led by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), including the Austrian Development Agency, the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Government of Armenia, the Swiss Church Aid (HEKS/EPER) NGO, Izmirlian Foundation, the Strategic Development Agency (SDA) NGO and Vanand Agro CJSC.
The project’s implementing partners are the GIZ and HEKS/EPER with the involvement of SDA and the School of Agricultural, Forest and Food Sciences at the Bern University of Applied Sciences (HAFL).
