On February 7-8, within the framework of the “Modernizing Vocational Education and Training in Agriculture in Armenia” (MAVETA) project, Strategic Development Agency (SDA) NGO organized two-day training for the teachers of MAVETA project partner- colleges on the topic “Presentation of the gender-sensitive approaches in VET and equal opportunities creation for vulnerable groups”.
Suzanna Petrosyan, an expert on inclusive education, introduced the opportunities for people with disabilities in VET education, adaptations of the educational environment for people with various disabilities, global trends and good experience.
The expert also presented the law on disabilities, as well as the information on the legislative reforms and the details of the personal assistant institute introduction.
Anna Poghosyan, a gender and public relations and communication specialist at Strategic Development Agency NGO, presented the importance of application of gender-sensitive approaches in VET institutions, public perceptions and implications for everyday life, as well as the brought the local and international experience and comparative findings.
The participants of the two-day training strengthened their theoretical knowledge about inclusion through practical exercises and role-play games.
