Client: Ministry of Economy of RA, funding through Asian Development Bank (ADB) by Japan Fund for Prosperous and Resilient Asia and the Pacific (JFPR)
Under this assignment, consulting services will be provided to the CAFSEP Project over a two-year period (2025–2026) to support a rural development initiative aimed at enhancing food security and promoting climate-sensitive, income-generating agricultural activities in the Tavush and Shirak marzes.
The initiative targets 10 vulnerable settlements and is expected to benefit 230 rural households, with a strong emphasis on the economic empowerment of women and youth. Key areas of support include the establishment of intensive backyard orchards and the provision of in-kind assets to develop small-scale agri-business projects.
This integrated, community-driven approach aims to foster sustainable agricultural development, build resilience, and promote inclusive economic participation in rural Armenia.
“Climate-Adaptive Food Security Enhancement Project (CAFSEP)” is financed through Asian Development Bank (ADB) by Japan Fund for Prosperous and Resilient Asia and the Pacific (JFPR). Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia acts as implementing agency, while World Food Programme (WFP) serves as technical advisory institution.
CAFSEP aims to support Government of Armenia in strengthening resilience of agricultural livelihoods and improving food security in rural areas highly vulnerable to climate change impacts. Focus areas include Shirak and Tavush marzes. Final objective is to enhance climate adaptability of selected rural communities and households.
