ECF Phase II – Kick-off Meeting of the Regional Consultative Forum

On June 9th, Regional Consultative Council Meeting of Eco-Corridors Program (ECF II) was held in Tbilisi. During the meeting the main tasks, goals and methodology of the second phase of the Eco-Corridors Program (ECF II) was discussed. Phase two of the program involves preserving landscapes of special importance, creating eco-corridors connecting protected areas, protecting species and their habitats through active involvement of local people.

 

Mr. Mkrtich Ayvazyan, the Chairman of Strategic Development Agency (SDA) NGO, presented “Living Landscapes for Market Development in Armenia” project financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).  In his speech he highlighted some valuable ideas related nature conservation and economic welfare and how nature-based value chains can be used to overcome economic challenges.
